  • Prof. Andrew Massey delivered a keynote speech at the 2015 AAPA Annual Conference in China

    Professor Andrew Massey delivered a keynote speech at the 2015 AAPA Annual Conference in Xi’an, China on January 9, 2015. He is currently the Head of the Politics Department in the College of Social Sciences and International Studies at University of Exeter in the UK. He is the Editor-in-Chief of the International Review of Administrative Sciences and the Public Money and Management.In addition, Professor Richard Walker from Hong Kong, Professor Masahiro Horie from Japan, Professor Eko Prasojo from Indonesia, Professor Supachai Yavaprabhas from Thailand, and Professor Lan Xue and Professor Jiannan Wu from China joined the plenary sessions and delivered their speeches.In the opening ceremony, Dr. Tiejun Wang, Vice President of Xi’an Jiaotong University, Dr. Xiaoping Gao, Vice President of the Chinese Public Administration Society (CPAS), and Dr. Jiang Wu, President of the Asian Group for Public Administration (AGPA) delivered congratulatory speeches on January 9, 2015.

  • 2015 Gaidar Forum in Moscow (at the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration: RANEPA)

    AAPA President, Professor Pan Suk Kim, delivered a keynote speech entitled Contemporary Issues of Civil Service Reform and Human Resource Management in Government in the Gaidar Forum's (www.gaidarforum.ru) Panel on the Personnel Dimension of Public Policy Development in Modern Russia at the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA) on January 15, 2015. On January 16, 2015, AAPA President, Professor Pan Suk Kim, and RANEPA Rector, Professor Vladimir Mau, signed the MOU for further collaboration between two institutes. RANEPA’s Moscow campus includes 21 schools and departments and it has 63 satellite campuses in 55 regions of the Russian Federation. RANEPA is the largest public administration institution in the world (It has over 200 thousand students including more than 35 thousand full-time students).

  • International Seminar in Yerevan, Armenia on October 8, 2014

    AAPA President, Professor Pan Suk Kim, delivered a keynote speech at the International Seminar on Developing Government and Governance Capacities for Sustainable Development at the Armenia Marriott Hotel in Yerevan, Armenia on October 8, 2014. Many participants came from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries, Armenian institutions and government agencies, Asia (Cambodia, Laos, Mongolia, Myanmar, Vietnam), the Regional Hub of Civil Service in Astana, and UN family organizations including UNDESA/DPADM, UNDP, UN-HABITAT, UNIDO, UNFPA, UNECE, and others.

  • AGPA Conference in Jakarta, Indonesia on August 27-29, 2014

    AAPA President, Professor Pan Suk Kim, delivered a keynote speech entitled Governance Innovation in a New Age: the Journey of the Octopus Bike in the opening ceremony of the 2015 AGPA Conference in Jakarta (Sari Pan Pacific Hotel), Indonesia on August 27, 2014. The Presidents of IIAS and IASIA as well as the IIAS Director-General joined the meeting and this meeting was sponsored by the Indonesian Ministry of Bureaucratic Reform.

    AAPA President, Professor Pan Suk Kim, attended the 2nd International Conference of the Public Administration Association of Thailand (PAAT) at Chulalongkorn University on March 28, 2014 and delivered a keynote speech on the evolving concept of governance. PAAT is the major professional association of public administration in Thailand.

  • 2014 ASPA Conference in Washington, DC in March of 2014

    AAPA President, Professor Pan Suk Kim, attended the 2014 ASPA conference in Washington, DC on March 16, 2014. He participanted in two panels: (1) Panel on Democratic Governance, Public Administration, and Poverty Alleviation; and (2) Panel on Organizational Politics and Culture among Public Agencies in South Korea.   • UN Committee of Experts on Public Administration (UNCEPA) at the UN in 2013

    Professor Pan Suk Kim participated in the 12th session of the UN Committee of Experts on Public Administration (UNCEPA) at the United Nations in New York from April 15 to 19, 2013.Professor Kim participated as an expert on the role of responsive and accountable public governance in achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and the post-2015 development agenda, honing in on the most effective ways to implement good governance and public service for the people.Professor Kim is a member of the UNCEPA (2006-2013) and a Vice Chair of the committee (2010-2013). He received a Certificate of Recognition from the UN Under-Secretary-General Wu Hongbo on April 18, 2013.
